Gracie Barra Herriman proudly welcomes students from Herriman, Daybreak, South Jordan, Riverton, Bluffdale, and nearby communities to experience world-class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in a safe, family-first place. Our mission is simple: bring high-quality Jiu-Jitsu to the heart of Herriman and build a positive community where kids, teens, and adults can grow, on and off the mats.
When we looked at Herriman, one thing stood out right away: this was a fast-growing city full of families, but it didn’t have a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school. Many residents who wanted real Jiu-Jitsu training had to drive out of the area to find a program that was structured, consistent, and family-friendly. Then, through a partnership with a local child care, we had the chance to connect closely with Herriman families, and what we heard was clear: people wanted something nearby that helped kids build confidence and discipline, helped adults stay active and safe, and gave the whole family a strong, positive community to belong to.
That’s exactly why Gracie Barra Herriman exists.

More than just a place to train, Gracie Barra Herriman was built to make every student, and every family member, feel welcome from the moment they walk in. Our school features two nice mats with plenty of room to train safely and comfortably, plus a comfortable viewing area where parents, friends, and family can sit and watch classes and feel part of the experience.
We’ve created a clean, cozy, well-organized environment, with thoughtful details that make training easier and more enjoyable:
- Changing rooms and showers, so you can train before/after work, or between errands without stress.
- A kids’ room, where little ones can relax or hang out safely before or after class.
- A GB Wear mini shop stocked with official uniforms, rashguards, and training gear, so you’re always prepared to step on the mats.

Red Shield Founders and inauguration
We had a soft opening, welcoming local families to know the school, meet the team, and even give it a try in training. That early phase helped to introduce our Jiu-Jitsu school to Herriman residents and surrounding.
Before our opening, we launched our Red Shield Founders program that recognizes the 50 very first students who joined Gracie Barra Herriman and believed in the vision early. Red Shield Founders aren’t just “early sign-ups”, they’re part of the school’s origin story, helping establish community spirit, and standards that will define this school for years to come.
