Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for South Jordan
Eight minutes south, just over the city line. Your first class is free.
South Jordan is the largest city we serve, and it is really three different drives: the Redwood Road side, the Bangerter side, and Daybreak. All three end at the same mats. Classes run six days a week for ages three and up.
The short answer
Is there a Gracie Barra school in South Jordan?
The closest Gracie Barra school to South Jordan is Gracie Barra Riverton, at 2936 W 12600 S. We sit just south of the city line, about eight minutes from most of the city.
One thing worth knowing before you plan the trip: Bangerter Highway now runs from Draper to Taylorsville without a single stoplight, and all three South Jordan crossings at 9800, 10400 and 11400 South were rebuilt as underpasses. If Bangerter is your road, the drive south is uninterrupted.

Getting here
The drive from South Jordan
Four ways in, depending on which part of the city you start from.
South on Bangerter Highway from 9800, 10400 or 11400 South. Every one of those crossings is now an underpass, so you go the whole way without stopping.
~8 min
Redwood Road south to 12600 South, then west for about a mile. The most direct route if you live on the east half of the city.
~8 min
Mountain View Corridor south to 12600 South, then east. Or Daybreak Parkway east to Bangerter and south from there.
~10 min
Bangerter south the whole way. Worth checking Gracie Barra West Jordan too, since from up there it may be the shorter trip.

Training here from South Jordan
South Jordan grew fast, and one thing that came with the growth is choice. There are more places to train now than there were five years ago, which means the reason to drive eight minutes south has to be something other than distance.
For most of our members it comes down to how classes are put together. Adults with no experience start in GB1 Fundamentals rather than joining whatever session is running that night. Children are grouped by age first, then by size and skill, so a small seven year old is not paired with a tall eleven year old. Every instructor holds Gracie Barra ICP certification and current first aid and emergency response training, and the classes follow the same curriculum used in more than 1,300 Gracie Barra schools worldwide. The school is led by Professor Seidler Rodrigo Ziser, a third degree black belt.
Coming from Daybreak
Daybreak is far enough west that the drive is a different trip from the rest of the city. Mountain View Corridor south to 12600 South is the cleanest run, and it lands you here in about ten minutes. Daybreak Parkway east to Bangerter works too, and is often better if you are already heading that way.
If you live at the north end of Daybreak, it is worth measuring both. Gracie Barra West Jordan may be closer to you than we are, and it is the same curriculum and the same team. We would rather you train somewhere than spend the difference sitting in a car. See every community we serve to compare.
